Why use SIPs?

The TEK Building System comprises 142 mm or 172 mm thick Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) with a high performance fibre-free rigid urethane insulation core, sandwiched between two layers of Oriented Strand Board type 3 (OSB/3). It is used to construct walls and roofs, and intermediate floors using I-beams or open web joists.

    • Recognised by all major building warranty providers as well as Council of Mortgage lenders.

    • BBA & European Technical approval with a minimum life expectancy of 60 years.

    • Excellent overall thermal performance with low U values, and reduced thermal bridging

    • Reduced need for additional measures such as PV’s, ground/air source heat pumps.

    • 15mm OSB/3 panels faces providing a more robust construction up to 4 storeys as a freestanding structure (most other SIPS are only to 2 storeys) and fixing of heavy loads to the face of the panel.

    • Reduced construction times leading to reduced site prelims and faster return on the clients investment.

    • Reduced site waste

    • Offcuts are used towards future projects wherever possible

    • Insulation HCFC & CFC free

    • Ozone depletion of zero

    • GWP of less than 5 resulting in the TEK panel being rated as an A /A+ product under the BRE green guide.

    • TEK system has a suite of Psi Values for the non-repeat junctions with the majority being better than Accredited Construction details.

    • Recognised by all major building warranty providers as well as Council of Mortgage lenders
